Job Description

Pinnacle Group Renovations by Design Ltd. is seeking an experienced Rehabilitation and Renovation Specialist to join its team in Calgary, Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating and overseeing residential renovation projects, including project scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, quality control and client communication.

The position requires strong construction and renovation knowledge, project management capabilities and the ability to coordinate trades and project activities to ensure work is completed according to approved plans, specifications, quality standards and applicable requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Direct, evaluate, plan and organize daily renovation operations.

  • Plan and prepare project work schedules.

  • Select trade subcontractors and coordinate their activities.

  • Inspect subcontractors' work to ensure quality and conformity with plans and specifications.

  • Plan and manage project budgets, costs and timelines.

  • Prepare estimates and bids for home construction, renovation and restoration projects.

  • Work with customers, architects, engineers, designers and other project stakeholders regarding plans and specifications.

  • Prepare and maintain information relating to suppliers and trade contractors.

  • Coordinate project activities, materials, trades and other resources.

  • Monitor project milestones, quality standards and construction requirements.

  • Develop and support marketing, advertising and sales strategies related to renovation services.

  • Provide guidance and training to project team members.

  • Develop and implement health and safety practices for renovation activities.

  • Perform carpentry or other skilled trade work during home construction or renovation activities when required.

These responsibilities are consistent with the applicant's documented Pinnacle duties, including estimating, scheduling and budget monitoring, client/design coordination, subcontractor selection and supervision, quality inspections, marketing support, team mentorship and hands-on construction support.

Requirements

Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma in construction management, architecture, building construction or a related field

Experience: 5 years or more of relevant experience in residential construction, renovation, construction project management or a related field

Language: English

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of residential construction and renovation processes

  • Experience coordinating and supervising subcontractors and trades

  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, plans and specifications

  • Experience preparing project estimates, schedules and construction documentation

  • Knowledge of construction quality-control practices

  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, suppliers, architects and engineers

  • Knowledge of applicable workplace health and safety requirements

  • Ability to perform skilled construction or renovation work when required

The 5+ years requirement is supportable against the applicant's background: his résumé documents more than 11 years as Senior Architect / Project Manager / Owner from May 2011 to August 2022, including construction implementation, procurement, contracts, quality control, site supervision and labour management.
