Location: Halifax, NS
Salary: $17.50 - $21.00 per hour
Terms: Permanent, Full-time (35-40 hours/week)

Job Duties

• Prepare and cook complete meals and individual dishes according to house recipes
• Set up and operate cooking stations (grill, fryer, sauté) during service
• Portion and plate dishes following presentation standards
• Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, cutting, and measuring
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work area, equipment, and utensils
• Monitor food quality and adjust seasoning as needed
• Receive and store food supplies in appropriate storage areas
• Rotate stock and check expiry dates to minimize waste
• Follow food safety protocols and health regulations at all times
• Assist with daily specials and prep lists
• Train and supervise kitchen helpers as directed

Requirements

• Languages: English
• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

Work Conditions

• Fast-paced kitchen environment with high heat and noise levels
• Standing for extended periods; frequent lifting up to 25 kg
• Evening and weekend shifts required
