Location: Vaughan, ON
Salary: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
Terms: Permanent, Full-time (40-44 hours/week)

Job Duties

• Prepare interior and exterior surfaces by scraping, sanding, and patching
• Apply primer, paint, stain, and varnish using brushes, rollers, and sprayers
• Calculate paint quantities and mix colours to match specifications
• Apply caulking compound to seal cracks and joints
• Tape and cover surfaces, fixtures, and floors to protect from paint
• Erect and use scaffolding and ladders safely
• Remove wallpaper and prepare walls for new finishes
• Apply texture and decorative coatings as specified
• Clean brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other tools after use
• Read blueprints and work orders to determine scope of work
• Follow all safety procedures including fall protection and WHMIS
• Maintain a clean and organized work area at each job site

Requirements

• Languages: English
• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years as a painter
• Working at Heights training certification (or willing to obtain)

Work Conditions

• Both indoor and outdoor work environments
• Exposure to paint fumes and dust (respirators provided)
• Work at heights on ladders and scaffolding
